English National Cross-Country Championships

The English National Cross-Country Championships were held at Woolaton Park, Nottingham on Saturday 22nd February.

Settle Harriers had 2 representatives who did the club proud !

Congratulations to Seb Segger-Staveley who built on his excellent run in the Northerns a couple of weeks earlier and produced his best ever cross-country performance, finishing 19th in the Under 17 boys championships in a field of 286 runners.  In a very competitive field, Seb finished only 40 seconds outside the top 3.

Congratulations also to Dougie Segger-Stavelely who finished in an excellent 117th place out of 364 runners in the Under 15 boys championship.

Conditions were very muddy as you will see from the photos of Seb and Dougie below.

Both Seb and Dougie have qualified to represent North Yorkshire Schools in the English Schools CCC coming up next month and Seb will also be representing Yorkshire in the Inter-Counties Championships.  Good luck to both of them !
