Lowgill Sports – Sat 11 June

We had yet another terrific turn out for the late afternoon races at Lowgill Sports. Some of the juniors had the opportunity for an ideal warm up in the sports day style races before the fell runs. Conditions were very windy at the start and baking hot down by the river. It was an unusual upside down race with an uphill finish.

U14 BOYS

It was great to see Finn out on the fells for the first time in a while, he’s been busy racing his bike! Robbie had an impressive run and Mack enjoyed the nippy downhill sections. Well done all

U12 GIRLS

Mia and Ewan had a great race, taking it turns to lead the way and both ended up very highly placed. Annabel looked really strong on the climb and Lucy ran a determined race in her first year in this age group. Well done girls

U12 BOYS

Ethan had a break from football to turn out for another fell race and ran really well. Stanley is in his first year in the U12s and loves the downhills, he commits 100% to every race. I can’t remember a fell race that Carl hasn’t done! He is a prolific racer and once again ran brilliantly. Ewan had a great race to finish high up in the field, looking strong on the uphill return. Well done boys

U9 GIRLS

In only her second fell race, Sophie had a smashing run, showing that her dedication to training is paying off. Amelie and Flo showed off their flawless downhill technique and dug deep on the climb. Awesome running all round

U9 BOYS

Calum works so hard in races, he goes out fast, maintains his form and finishes with a sprint. Another great result. I’ve been looking forward to seeing Oliver in his first race and he did so well! William has been enjoying racing regularly this year and gets faster and stronger with every race. Oscar was impressive too in only his 3rd race. Well done boys
