Ingleborough Mountain Race

The Ingleborough Mountain Race starts on the sports field next to Ingleton Community Centre (Grid Ref. 695730), passes through the main street of the village, turns left on to the Hawes road, after four hundred metres turn right off the road on to the public footpath up Ingleborough. The race then follows this path to the summit (grid ref. 742745) and returns to the village by the same route. The field is re-entered from the Back Gate car park.  As this route is along a public footpath, any competitor may go around the course prior to the race.

As the race is run as part of Ingleton’s Gala day, friends and family can enjoy the activities on the Gala Field while waiting for the runners to return.

Rules:
The race is run under FRA rules, therefore:

All runners must read the principles of fell running and the requirements for runners, including the recent rule changes.

These documents include details of the full FRA mandatory minimum kit that you must bring on the day.

FRA Mandatory Minimum Kit:
Waterproof whole body cover (with taped seams and integrated attached hood), hat, gloves, map of the route, compass, whistle and emergency food.

There will be checks! The race organiser may change to this rule on the day if the weather is glorious, of course. It is also strongly recommended that runners carry some water – especially if the weather is hot.

If you retire, you MUST report back to race control at the start or the race in the gala field.  Please ensure you do this, as nobody wants to spend hours out hunting for people who are already enjoying a nice hot bath at home!

Entry:
Enter online via SI Entries to secure your place, £10.
Entry on the day if the race limit has not been reached £15.

Registration:
Race registration, will be in the Ingleton Community Centre next to the Gala field, where race numbers can be collected.

Car Parking:
There is a car park next to the Community Center in Ingleton, this is operated by Craven District Council and so there is a cost to park your car.

Prize Giving:
This will take place as soon as our competence permits on the Gala field.

Facilities:
There are a number of campsites around Ingleton and a YHA, along with numerous Bed & Breakfast places locally.

Toilets:
These are available in the car park.

Finally:
Have a fantastic day, enjoy the gala, and good luck to all the runners.
